This new study will raise some alarms! Are we giving the next generation everything they need to lead long, healthy lives? Do schools need to have better classes on diet and health? Are parents properly educated in order to educate their children?
High blood pressure can have many causes, as I touched on in a previous post; but let’s hope that this isn’t a growing trend.
Close to 19% of young adults may have high blood pressure, and just half of them are aware of it despite this condition’s strong link to heart attack and stroke risk, according to a new study.
The new findings, which appear in Epidemiology, are much higher than previous estimates of the prevalence of high blood pressure in this same age group. Via: http://www.webmd.com/hypertension-high-blood-pressure/news/20110525/many-young-adults-may-have-high-blood-pressure
