Health Tip: We eat with our eyes!

Looking for simple ways to encourage healthier eating for yourself, loved ones, or your children?  Then this study serves as a great simple reminder.

The more visually interesting something is, the more we are drawn to it.  You don’t have to go as far as creating complete bento box style lunches, but the presentation does matter!

Be a little creative next time you put food on the table, have a dinner party, or a friend over for a light snack, and see if you have the same results as the study!

Want to double fruit sales in schools? A new Cornell University study shows it is as easy as putting the fruit in a colorful bowl. According to research presented this week at the American Dietetic Association Conference in San Diego, CA by Brian Wansink, Professor at Cornell University, “Moving the fruit increased sales by 104%.” This is only one of the changes proposed through the Smarter Lunchrooms Movement of the Cornell Center for Behavioral Economics in Child Nutrition Programs (BEN). via http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/09/110929144641.htm
